Training Advisory Board
The TAB aims to foster a vibrant, inclusive, and supportive scientific community within Cell-ID. Focused on early career scientists, the TAB offers initiatives to strengthen career development, scientific exchange, and community building.
These include mentoring programs connecting PIs, PDs, and PhDs, annual bootcamps, monthly seminars, and outreach activities such as art-and-science events. Through these activities, we aim to empower early-career researchers, encourage interdisciplinary collaboration, and nurture a thriving environment for emerging scientists.
The first of these initiatives—the mentoring program —has just been launched. Please fill in the survey here , and stay tuned as we continue expanding the TAB’s activities in the coming months!
Meet the tab members!

Ana Boranijasevic
My scientific journey started with a deep interest in medicine, leading me to complete my nursing degree at the Medical High School in Belgrade, Serbia.

However, I soon realized that my true passion was investigating biological processes at a fundamental level. This motivated me to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in Molecular Biology and Physiology at the University of Belgrade. During my Bachelor’s studies, I became captivated by the complexity of the brain. To specialize in this area, I dove into an international Master’s program in Neuroscience at Université Paris Cité. Today, my current work integrates these different experiences. As a PhD student, I focus on decoding the epigenome in the context of pediatric brain cancers.
I have joined the TAB to help connect PhD students and postdocs with the experts in the field through educational and interactive events like round tables and workshops, but also through dynamic social activities, thereby strengthening our sense of community. Furthermore, taking on the responsibility of coordination and teamwork within the TAB is providing me with crucial organizational and leadership experience that will be invaluable throughout my career.

Iris Unterweger
After obtaining Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Molecular Biology, I focused my research on the field of Developmental and Stem Cell Biology.

During my PhD at the NNF Center for Stem Cell Biology in Copenhagen, I studied lineage trajectories of progenitor cells during liver organogenesis.
Currently, as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Institut Pasteur in Paris, I am investigating single-cell transcriptomic trajectories in vivo in adult neural stem cells, aiming to elucidate their functional heterogeneity.
I joined the TAB because it offers an opportunity to actively engage and shape the training of early-career researchers within the Cell ID network. By building a supportive community, we can better connect, exchange expertise, and address the specific needs that enable us to thrive successfully.

Cristina Fracassi
After earning a bachelor’s degree in Biosciences and Biotechnology and a master’s degree in Molecular Biology and Genetics, I deepened my expertise in gene regulation.

I then completed an International PhD in Molecular Medicine at San Raffaele Hospital in Milan, investigating the transcriptional and chromatin regulatory functions of oncogenes. Currently, as a postdoctoral researcher at the Institut de Génétique Humaine (IGH) in Montpellier, I study how epigenetic mechanisms orchestrate cell differentiation and how their disruption drives aberrant lineage commitment.
The TAB offers a unique opportunity to strengthen my management skills by organizing networking and training events. I will engage myself in mentoring early-career researchers and actively foster interdisciplinary collaboration between them. I’m confident that these experiences will help me shape my future scientific identity and enhance my ability to integrate research, mentorship, and scientific community engagement.
The Training Advisory Board (TAB) is composed of Cristina Fracassi (Postdoc Cavalli team – IGH Montpellier), Ana Boranijasevic (PhD Cantini/Almouzni – Pasteur/Curie Paris) and Iris Unterweger (Postdoc Bally-Cuif team – Pasteur Paris). We are always looking for new members — please feel free to contact us if you would like to join the team.
